Correct Answer !
Mercenaria mercenaria. A shellfish species whose shell is commonly found at coastal archaeology sites of the Northeast United States. This shell served as a common food source for Native Americans of the region, and continues to be commercially gathered for consumption today. The interior of the shell was also used for the production of 'wampum', or shell beads that were exchanged in prehistoric contexts as belts used to denote honorable achievements and social position, while becoming monetized through Dutch traders seeking to promote fur trade with inland tribes during the Contact period. For an example, see "Prehistoric and Historic Coastal Occupations: Riverview Estates".
